About this course

Andropause is not Male Menopause. And not all men experience it, but it does have significant consequences for the health and quality of life of those men that do. Men with Andropause remain fertile even though their testosterone and sperm production progressively fall to low levels.

A common misunderstanding of andropause is that it is a testosterone deficiency. This is true, but only part of the story. Involved are oestrogen, thyroid hormone, progesterone and many other factors. Shelley Burns has created a two-part webinar series on Andropause that examines the underlying physiology of Andropause; why it happens, why it needn’t happen and what you can do when it does.

Men with Andropause are fatigued, have a low sex drive and infrequent morning erections. Their mood worsens and they have several physiological deteriorations which impact their long-term health. These include reduced bone and muscle mass, insomnia, and increased fat mass.

Gaining a deep understanding of the antecedents that contribute to Andropause help us to identify the syndrome and to implement effective strategies.
