About this course

Chronic infections are often more difficult to resolve than they should be, and biofilms are frequently the reason. Biofilms are communities of microorganisms encased in a protective matrix and they are now understood to be the rule in nature rather than the exception. When these communities become pathogenic, they can shield organisms from even the strongest anti-infective therapies and allow chronic illness to persist despite appropriate treatment.

Dr Paul Anderson is a naturopathic physician with over fifteen years of clinical experience developing and refining biofilm protocols with chronically ill patients at Anderson Medical Specialty Associates. He is widely known for his work on the Bismuth-Thiol complex and for translating biofilm research into practical, clinically-tested treatment approaches.

In this presentation, Paul explains the difference between normal and pathogenic biofilms, why early-stage (Phase-1) and later-stage (Phase-2) biofilms require entirely different treatment approaches, and how to identify patients whose chronic symptoms may be biofilm-related.
He then works through the evidence and clinical protocols for the main biofilm agents, including EDTA, silver, bismuth and thiols, before detailing his bismuth-thiol complex protocol, dosing and how to manage the immune flares that can occur during treatment.

This is a practical, protocol-driven session for clinicians wanting a clear framework for recognising and treating biofilm-related chronic disease.
What you receive:
  • A personalised certificate of completion including continuing education hours
  • Clear protocol explanations from some of the world's top practitioners
  • Clinical pearls for improved practice results
  • Access to your audio and video recordings via the App Store
  • A downloadable PDF of the presenter’s slides
  • Links to all referenced research papers and useful clinical handouts
  • Access to the community hub where you can get answers to your questions

From this course you will learn

  • The difference between normal and pathogenic biofilms, and who is likely to have clinically-significant biofilms
  • How pathogenic biofilms progress from Phase-1 through to Phase-2
  • Why Phase-2 biofilms cannot be treated with Phase-1 therapies, and what this means for chronically-ill patients
  • The clinical signs that suggest a patient's chronic infection or unresolved symptoms may be biofilm-related
  • The evidence base and clinical use of EDTA, silver, bismuth and thiols in biofilm therapy
  • How the bismuth-thiol complex works and why it is more effective than bismuth or thiols alone
  • Oral bismuth-thiol dosing protocols for adults and children, including cycling and long-term maintenance
  • How to recognise and manage immune flares during biofilm treatment
  • When and how to use biofilm preparation ahead of GI or stool testing
  • How to transition patients back onto Phase-1 prevention agents once pathogenic biofilms have cleared

Your Presenter

Dr Paul Anderson

Dr Paul Anderson is a recognised authority in integrative, naturopathic, and functional medicine, specialising in complex chronic illness, integrative oncology, and biofilm disrupter protocols
He is a former Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Medicine at Bastyr University and served as Chief of IV Services for the Bastyr Oncology Research Center.

Dr Anderson led the interventional arm of a US National Institutes of Health-funded human trial evaluating intravenous therapies in cancer patients. He founded Advanced Medical Therapies in Seattle, Washington, where he pioneered integrative protocols combining intravenous therapies, mild hyperthermia, and targeted biofilm disruption. Paul is a frequent presenter across allopathic, naturopathic, and integrative medical forums, focusing on pharmacologically significant IV nutrient therapies, complex infections, and metabolic repair.

With decades of clinical experience, Dr Anderson has pioneered advanced therapeutic strategies to address deep-seated pathological biofilms. His research and practice focus on translating emerging scientific insights into practical, multi-modality treatment models—ranging from dietary and botanical interventions to specialised oral and intravenous direct disrupters.

A dedicated educator, Dr Anderson regularly presents to healthcare practitioners on managing high-level biofilm complications, unmasking occult infections, and mitigating immune reactivity in chronically ill populations.
