For four billion years, sunlight, water and the earth's magnetic field shaped every molecule that became us. In just a few generations we have moved indoors, surrounded ourselves with artificial light and screens, and largely disconnected from the physical environment our biology still expects. Dr Vanessa Ingraham makes the case that this mismatch, rather than diet or genetics alone, may be behind a significant proportion of what we now call chronic disease.

Dr Vanessa Ingraham is a physician with a deep interest in evolutionary and quantum biology. Drawing on first principles and systems thinking, alongside her clinical experience, she explores how light, electromagnetic fields and mitochondrial energetics govern human physiology, treating nature itself as the control group against which conventional medicine can be measured.

This complete five-part series takes you through the full arc of the physics behind human biology. Vanessa begins with our evolutionary environment, using the NASA twin and gene lab studies as a case in point, then moves into the body's electrical architecture, showing how voltage gradients, fascia and water guide wound healing, regeneration and gene expression. From there she turns to the mitochondria, reframing them not as simple energy factories but as bioenergetic transformers whose resistance state shapes health or disease. The course closes with a deep exploration of light as what she calls the master signal of human biology, showing how chromophores, melanin and deuterium govern cellular energy production and how this translates into practical, everyday clinical guidance.

Your Presenter

Dr Vanessa Ingraham

Dr. Vanessa Ingraham is an integrative and functional medical practitioner originally from the Bahamas and now resides in Piha, New Zealand. Graduating as a licensed Naturopathic physician in 2012, she quickly distinguished herself, becoming one of the youngest graduates of The Academy Of Anti-aging Medicine's FAARFM fellowship program in 2017.

In 2013, Dr. Ingraham co-founded "Pure Health," an integrative clinic in Nassau, Bahamas, alongside her father, a pioneering "holistic" doctor in the region. The clinic specialises in IV nutrient therapy and mesenchymal stem cell treatments for complex chronic diseases. Later, she collaborated with Dr. Sy Peiere in a hospital-based practice, offering antiageing medical therapies and post-surgical care, before moving to New Zealand to formulate products for Nutrient Rescue NZ.

In Auckland, Dr. Ingraham's first New Zealand practice, Bloom Integrative Health, focused on supporting women dealing with hormonal conditions and those facing challenges related to cancer. Driven to make a broader impact, she shifted her focus to entrepreneurs and high performers experiencing the pressures of their demanding roles. This change followed her business partner's burnout experience and working with his colleagues in Silicon Valley, leading her to optimise the biology of individuals striving for success.

Currently based in Piha, Dr. V, as she is affectionately known, works remotely. Apart from her dedication to research, she is a committed yogi, witnessing every sunrise and immersing herself in nature. Her daily cold swims in the ocean or local waterfalls reflect her commitment to a lifestyle that supports her physiology and inspires other change-makers to create a balanced life that aligns with their goals. Her latest passion is continuously learning simple ways to improve her client's health through the cutting-edge field of Quantum Biology.
