About this course

The human microbiome is a complex ecological landscape where parasites have co-existed with mankind since the beginning of our history. While often viewed purely as pathogens, emerging research suggests that parasites play a vital role in gut health and immune modulation, potentially offering protective benefits against IBD, diabetes, MS, and other autoimmune disorders. However, when the delicate balance of the "parasitome" shifts, these organisms can become drivers of chronic inflammation and debilitating systemic illness.

In this comprehensive presentation, Dr Darin Ingels, a board-certified naturopath and immunology specialist, provides a deep dive into the identification and botanical management of parasitic infections. He moves beyond the "test and treat" dogma to explore the nuances of immune tolerance and the antigenic makeup of diverse parasitic species.

Dr Ingels details the life cycles and clinical presentations of major protozoa, nematodes, cestodes, and trematodes. He spends a significant portion of the session outlining a versatile toolkit of botanical interventions - ranging from Artemisia annua to Berberine-containing herbs - and provides clear, actionable protocols for both protozoan and helminthic infections.

This is an essential masterclass for any clinician looking to master the complexities of parasitic management through a functional, root-cause lens.
