About this course

The traditional health care approach makes assumptions and is traditionally good for acute conditions however there may be other approaches to ensuring the best outcomes for clients.

Sharon Curtain's vision is to upskill health professionals with practical tools that enable them to support people in all stages of change. Supporting people to identify their motivators for change and build confidence using effective communication allows people to take the actions to implement positive mindsets and behaviours.

This course provides a new way to look at the assumptions clinicians may make about a client. Sharon Curtain

Sharon is a Dietitian, Certified Health Coach, Certified Trainer and Assessor, Trained Facilitator, Director of Accredited Health Coaching Australia, Board Member of Health Coaches Australia & New Zealand Association (HCANZA), and Author and Owner of the Diploma of Health Coaching, a nationally accredited qualification.

Sharon has worked for 24 years as a dietitian, health coach, trainer and presenter. She worked for five years as a clinical dietitian and another five years in corporate nutrition, delivering nutrition training programs. Sharon currently trains students, practitioners and coaches individuals in health behaviour change.

Sharon developed and authored the first Australian Diploma of Health Coaching, run in collaboration with Victoria University Polytechnic and is the course co-ordinator and lecturer. She delivers online health coaching training courses to health professionals via Accredited Health Coaching Australia as well as running regular tutorials for health professionals undertaking the Diploma of Health Coaching (Victoria University Polytechnic) and the Masters of Lifestyle Medicine at James Cook University.
