About this course

This course explores the complex intersections between histamine, hormone cycles, and chronic urticaria (hives). Research indicates that there is a clear connection between histamine and hormonal shifts and these are a major contributing factor to mast cell activation.

Aoife Earls combines cutting-edge research and clinical interventions for women’s health and dives deep into understanding how histamine-immune processes are amplified during key hormonal life stages, including puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and perimenopause. Chronic urticaria is observed to be more common and more severe in females, with higher rates of high disease activity, poor prognosis, and also a longer disease course.

You will learn about symptom assessment, conventional and complementary treatment options, food triggers, and strategies for addressing chronic urticaria at every hormone transition. This course evaluates both conventional and alternative treatment strategies tailored to manage reactivity across the female lifespan.
