October 2025 Courses
Oct 15
This month, we bring you insightful presentations with many practical strategies on three important health topics: managing hives and their hormonal connections, mastering potent breathwork techniques, and natural approaches to improving sleep in mental health patients
Hives is a challenging condition for many people, and the link between hormonal cycles and histamine activity will be a valuable insight for many of your female patients. Aoife Earls, MSc, ND, explores the immune processes behind hives and how a woman’s hormonal phases affect histamine reactivity. This presentation will change the way you think about many of their symptoms your female patients are presenting with and how they vary through the menstrual cycle and in the perimenopausal transition.
Simple Breathing Techniques can immediately influence your patient’s pain, resilience and physical performance, along with their anxiety, panic attacks and many other symptoms. Dr Erik Peper PhD, MPD is a professor of Holistic Health Studies at San Francisco State University and an internationally-recognised expert in biofeedback. He shares his evidence-based breath retraining methods that promote diaphragmatic breathing, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, and improve resilience. Learn how to guide your patients toward effortless breathing patterns that can add relief to a very large range of conditions.
Sleep disturbances are very common and often persistent in psychiatric populations, especially those in addiction recovery. Dr Hyla Cass, MD is a distinguished psychiatrist, author, and an internationally-recognised expert in integrative medicine and psychiatry. In this presentation she discusses the inner pharmacy of the brain, the key neurotransmitters and hormones essential for healthy sleep and mental function. Hyla shares her practical, drug-free interventions such as amino acid therapy and nutritional strategies to help many people sleep much more efficiently. She also discusses the gut-brain connection’s role in sleep quality and how to support patients using holistic approaches. Find out more here.
